Alternator woes

My wedge has decided to drop a subtle hint that it wants a new alternator for xmas, by making the old one smoke impressively, then putting the battery light on!

Does anybody know a part number, or which car TVR got the alternators off? Mine is a 1991 400SE (H reg).
