No mate, it's the UK, there was a quote somewhere today about 'envy' being a part of British modern culture

Are you sure it wasn't just their way of trying to speak? You know ..."nith car misther..." It happens a lot in Mansfield, you know their mum married her brother...

Cue distant sound of banjos...dum dum dum dee dum dum dum dum dum...

(Apologies to any PH members from Mansfield who are obviously not of this ilk )

It's odd that some people seem to despise others' wealth, but then try to win £1M on the lottery every week so they can be rich too... Hating something they aspire to? Mad times indeed.
I think reasoning is pointless - I'd go for Anglo-Saxon if I were you.

Fit one of those South African anti-carjacking systems with the 30 foot flames.

That'll sort 'em!

I drove through mansfield one night (was obviously either looking for cheap female companionship or seriously lost, can't think of any other reason for going there!) and turned a corner to see tweety pie thumping tigger in the middle of the road.

Sylvester was on top of Pooh and snoopy was running down the road ..

seems i'd inadvertantly stumbled across a fancy dress party that had gotten a little out of hand .. when tweety's head fell off the cops came ..

Mansfield hey? .. gotta hate the scummy place with a passion

Your not alone mate. I wrote a thread on this kind of thing a while back (HERE) during a particually bad week where anyone and everyone seemed to be calling me names, shaking their heads in a "what a flash prick" kind of a way.

But like everyone here says, it just boils down to jealousy. People are jealous because:-

- you drive a better car than them, or,
- that you had the b*ll*cks to go out and buy the car you dream of (while other drive round in £20k-worth of rubbish!), or,
- jealous that their life won't permit them to have a car like ours (because of wife/kids etc - their own bloody fault!!)

People don't seem to realise that some of us have had to make some big sacrifices to own the cars we do, others of us are in a mountain of debt because of it (I'm a bit of both!!)

B*ll*cks to them all I say, let them drive round in their Fiestas and Corsas with whinging kids in the back and a fat nagging wife, and next time just smile to yourself as you pull away and leave them in a cloud of exhaust fumes and dust wondering if they'll ever be able to save up enough giros to buy one!

Some people are naturally bitter and jealous, but thankfully the majority of people are pleased to see a nice car, give nice comments, gawping looks and so on.

Don't think anything of them

I had this on Sunday - overtook 2 old boys in a Toyota Amazon doing 32mph in a 60 on a loooong straight road - didn't have to go much above 50 mph as I came past - drifted up to the speed limit, when at the side of the road I spotted a guy walking with his wife - leant over towards us with his fist shaking and spitting some expletive at us ???? Don't begin to understand that kind of behaviour.....oh yes I get it now - they're fuggin MORONS !

Feel better now - ......and breathe...ahh

Well actually I'm not 'from' Mansfield I just live very near there now, near enough for the Mansfield branch of Domino's to deliver, but it's not on my Address
There are a large percentage of muppets there, and it is very 'backwards' when we 1st moved there we decided to pop in to Mansfield town centre one Sunday to do some shopping, and the place was deserted, everywhere was closed, and there was just the previous nights half eated kebabs roaming the pavements
Still laughing at the thoughts of the cartoon brawl
