BBC4 showed 3 documenteries last night, Graham Hill : driven, Jim Clark : Quiet Chmpion and one about Jackie Stwart (Flying Scott?) the first two are on iPlayer...I guess the other is coming.

Well worth a look, especially if you are stuck home from work!

Will I get shot down by the off topic police if I post this in general gassing?

They are all very good programmes and have been shown now a number of times.

(I feature in the Jackie Stewart one - as a blob in the background of a couple of shots).

Just thought I'd bump this thread, as I have it on good authority that the programme will be repeated once again on BBC2 on the night of the 20th of February at 7pm - to be confirmed though!

What a brilliant programme, as a 28 year old it i didnt know a lot about Graham Hill or F1 in those days. Such a shame he died early, at least his legacy lives on with Damon.

I told my uncle about watching the Jim Clarke documentary and he told me a story about my dad, sadly long dead. When my uncle was 15 my dad took him to Aintree to watch the Grand Prix, I didn't know about this and it brought a tear to my eye I must say.

Brilliant. That is how TV should be made. Simple, funny, moving.

Brilliant programme. I've seen it before but would gladly watch it again and again.

It really was the heydays of motorsport. There's also a programme called "Playboys of F1" or similar that's a great watch.

I heard a interview with Sir Jackie Stuart on R2 the other week that said in '71 the odds on surviving a season was 1-3. Now that's st odds.

P.s I know it was an aeroplane crash etc. but it does give you an idea about the risks these guys took.

P.p.s You think these risks would be put into normal life? I.E not checking your aeroplane correctly and thinking "Fcensored it"?

Just a thought while I was writing.

Just finished watching this on iPlayer, absolutely brilliant!

A bit before my time but it seems the man was a real laugh when he wanted to be, it's a shame that as time has passed you now don't get the same 'characters' as you did back then!
