Custom stuff for C5's...
Discussion
Hi, I've been a C5 owner for a good while now (I'm onto my second, and I had a C3 prior to that), but I'm getting a little bored of the way the car looks.
I realise this will probably make me unpopular here, but I'd like to "rice up" my vette a little. Not in a "fast and furious" style, but more to make the front end of the car look a little more European ("Ricing up" being used in the context of unnecessary modifications).
Based on this, can anyone recommend any shops which would be able to build me a custom front bumper and a custom hood from ABS or Carbon Fibre?
Any help much appreciated!

Yeah, I saw those - they're still american looking though (I realise that to make a C5 look non american is kinda difficult!).
What I'm after is a custom plastic fabricator in the UK - I want a bumper which is, perhaps, slightly shorter (making the nose stubbier) with bigger vents in a Porsche 996 Turbo stylee. I'm of the opinion that this would look very cool indeed on a custom vette.
Anyone have any ideas?

Hmmm... peculiar attitude. My drive is the fact that I ain't over keen on the C6, and it's not going to be mechanically that different to the C5, so if I can add a little more "modern" styling to my C5, problem solved!
I don't want to create anything like "Veilside" or something! Also remember that individuality is the reason most of us buy these cars!

This is a link to a fabricator near Oxford who makes Carbon fibre / glass fibre body panels for mid-year Corvette dragsters. Might be worth contacting him to see if he could help you out.
BTW I will still talk to you, if you get it modified!

Just pulling your leg. My Z28 has chrome badges, alloy bits, twin racing stripes, aftermarket grille and 18" alloys to be getting on with. West Coast Corvette do some lovely Billet side strakes for the C5.
I also agree with you on the C6. For me, it's a backward step. May look better in reality but too much not to like. That's what decided me to get a Z06.
IMHO, the things to avoid are the grilles over the back lights and any sort of wing.

Yeah, I agree - the fact that it is narrower and higher doesn't help the situation either. 400bhp isn't difficult to achieve in a regular C5, so chucking the money you would spend on a C6 at the C5, you'd have a
1) Faster
2) Better Looking
3) More Unique
So I suppose you can probably guess which direction I decided to go in...
