I got this watch as wedding present, I picked it because I liked to look of it.

I know nothing about watches and this is my first one i've ever owned.

What can anyone tell me about it?

Special edition?
Likely to hold it value?
Anything else?

Cheers

Based on the "Bond" Seamaster ie James Bond connection. Collectable? Not really - I think it's their most popular current line. It'll probably retain about 60% of its value if you sell it in the next 5-10 years.

Decent watch that should give you years of service.

Personally I wouldn't have chosen the chronograph version, but that's just me.

Thanks for the info, I obviously dont plan on ever selling it.

However I have managed to scratch the bezel on a wall, can just the bezel be replaced? How do I go about doing this?

Yes, I think you can buy one from www.ofrei.com (like Tesco Value Ketchup, it's the cheapest source, apparently).

Here: http://www.ofrei.com/page663.html

You may be able to find just the insert but I am not sure how you'd fit it.

This is what you want, loserboy: www.cousinsuk.com

But Maplins also sell stuff at competitive rates. They were doing a basic watch kit for half price last week. Not that you'd catch me in such an establishment, cos I'm not a loserboy. Ooh look half price watch care kit!! redface

Yes you can replace the bezel, but if it's being worn every day I wouldn't bother, it's likely to get tarnished again.

At least that's the principal upon which I operate with mine.

I got a similar watch fit too that (no screw drivers or pliers) from somewhere else for about a tenner.

As for your watch, having scratches on your daily beater is part of the charm.

Liquid Brasso NOT the wadding type, is good for getting mild scratches out and reducing the worst of deep scratches. Also good for repairing scratched CD/DVDs
