Has anybody got a Vostok Caspian sea Monster. They go for around £500 and look good on TV. How does ther finish compare to say an Oris? I am looking for a chunky, 44mm plus watch to wear as a daily and thought the Vostok might suit, Any other suggestions?

I've only bought the cheaper Vostoks and a Poljot, so all I can say is that there'd need to be a massive hike in quality and materials to justify that price and bear comparison to an Oris. My Oris was 300 quid new and light years on from the Poljot. Have you cracked the case and seen what they're made from? ie metal chassis, 21 jewel mechanism etc

Vostok seems to have gone up market from the soviet era, I would assume that Vostok Europe or what ever they call themselves are better.
