Just seen Gordon Brown on BBC news being interviewed about his forthcoming book. It appears that he has spent much of his time since leaving Number 10 eating pies. Which gives the impression for the first time that his face fits...

It's the Scottish diet now he no longer has access to all those lovely Socialist Michelin starred establishments of London.

Bugger. I really thought (hoped) he'd gone away for good.

Already? That's quick. We had to wait 3 years for Thatcher to release hers. Even Blair's isn't out until September. The next few months could be quite interesting if they are all as keen to kiss & tell as Mandy was.

It doesn't take long if you make things up.

And he won't need a proof reader because he never makes a mistake.

Can you imagine how dull it will be?

Surely no-one will actually be able to read it without losing the will to live during the preface?

Will he outsell Blunkett's book do you think?

IIRC, he only sold about 4000 copies.

I've just read the first line it goes like this....

"Gordon was an extraordinary boy, but today even he knew something wasn't right as he climbed aboard the train to Hogwarts one last time."

So despite promising to fight for the people, he's actually spent all of his time in this Parliament writing his book.

He should stand down and let someone actually represent his constituents, the pie-scoffing morose gormless .

We don't often agree, but on this occasion, we definately do.

Funny how he's had to rush this out to make some cash before being too obscure to sell any copies. No Blair style multi-million pound contracts flying aorund McBroon, are there?

Anyone else imagining an Alan Partridge style visit for Winky to a paper recycling plant to watch all the unsold copies being pulped in a few months time?

at what point did it become the norm to come out of public office to a book deal?

I can imagine the reader(s) dropping their jaw at the end of every sentence, in a Brown-like tic!

Considering how long it has taken for him to publish his magnum opus I think it might be a bit short.

My Magnificent Octopus, by Gordon Brown aged 5.
"Once upon a time there was a lovely little sausage called Gordon and he lived happily ever after".

Sausage?.......SAUSAGE?......Damn your eye.

Coincidentally I watched http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1139328/ last night. Fingers crossed the outcome is the same laugh (even though its fairly obviously based on Blair, instead of Broon..)
