Why do Russians all look the same?

Has anyone else noticed it? You can see a Russian person on the street, and you know straight away they are Russian (or one of the smaller countries in that area).

They have far apart eyes and little noses.

I can't be the only person that has noticed this.





Is it genetics? Has the Russian facial structure altered to protect it from freezing in the cold?

I never really pay attention to the blokes here.

The woman however are pretty awesome (well some of them anyway).

So you post ONE photo to back up your case of all Russians looking the same?
I can spot a russian without even seeing their face, so I think you are mistaking the reason they all look the same.
Also, don't let any of the members of those small countries around russia catch you saying it's all the same... Last time I did that, I told a ukrainian girl I was trying to pick up at a club that Ukraine and Russia are all one and the same thing. I nearly had my eyes scratched out.

Well, I did a Google image search for 'Russian man' in the middle of typing my post, and none of them looked like what I think they all look like. But still, I can recall quite clearly a few Russian people I've met and they all had the same look about them. Like they could kill you with one hand.

How can you spot one without seeing their face?

I know the places aren't 'all the same', but geographically they're all reasonably close.

If nothing else, at least this thread is highlighting my ignorance.

Same reason a lot of Scandinavians have blonde hair, southern Italians/Sicilians have dark hair and complexion, Greeks tend to have a certain look etc etc

It's essentially inbreeding - folk tend to marry/reproduce within their communities, just the community in this case is an entire country.

I wasn't going to throw away the minutes it took me to type it. Seriously though, all the one's I've met in real life all have a similar look about them. I'll assume it's down to genetics, and perhaps a purer Russian gene pool? I don't imagine a lot of people have emigrated to Russia over the years, whereas other countries have their gene pool diluted? I think I'm on to something there.

I'm surprised nobody has called me a racialist yet.

Women: (though it's getting harder these days because the easter european outdated fashion has done a full circle and is now being picked up by the western girls), dyed hair, matching denim tops and bottoms, well looked after finger nails, they walk like proper ladies too (swaying their hips, unlike the local penguin walk), often their handbag will match the colour of their footwear, often sporting designer clothes but only the clothes that have large logos on them (though this seems to be a fading trend).

Men on the other hand: Light denims, tucked in short sleeve shirt with a breast poket, or a t-shirt, brown belt, black footwear, un-waxed/gelled hair or one grade cut all over, often with a noticeable BO aura arund them...
