Wheres the best place. Local high street stores don't seem to know what I'm talking about.

Look on ofrei.com then find the part number and any competent stockist should be able to order it for you. If not then order from ofrei.com

As mentioned, suggest you contact Omega directly as an official stockist will have to order from them anyway. I was very lucky a few years ago when I enquired after one for my SMP and the stockist had a strap and clasp in stock that they had ordered for someone who then had never collected. I made them an offer which they accepted. Note that you will need to order both the rubber strap and the deployant clasp as they are separate items.

So spoke to a semi-helpful stockist.

Omega UK don't currently stock these. They told the stockist to get me to find the serial number of the items and then they would order them from Switzland! Idiots.

So, can't really tell from the Ofroi website which I need or indeed which fit. I'd really appreciate it if you guys could help with a few questions.

I have a SMP mid size - black bezel

1) Does it take the "tradtional watch strap" type of rubber strap? if so which ones?
2) if I have the rubber version of the metal bracelet do you have to cut the rubber to size of does it fit in the deployment clasp? Also, any ideas which one so I can get the serial numnber?

Lastly how easy are these to fit?

Cheers
Mike

Slight topic hijack,

I'm about to go on holiday and had been going to buy a cheap(ish) watch for sea swimming etc (maybe in the shower, but certainly nothing like diving or anything), but figure why not just risk it with the Seamaster (Pro Automatic) - should I avoid this as it hasn't been serviced for 3 years(!)?

Surely it'll be OK as all the seals and stuff are screwed in/down - or are there gaskets etc that I need to worry about?

Ta, CH

I quite often use my SMP as a holiday watch, have used it for diving to 30m and it's been faultless. If you do wear it in the sea, rinse it in cold water at the end of each day to remove salt etc. It would be best to try to avoid getting a load of sand in the bracelet/clasp if you can but again, a rinse in cold water and a clean with an old soft toothbrush should get any muck out of the bracelet and off the case.
