Mercruiser in Scotland
Discussion
I am looking for someone, preferably closeish to the North East of Scotland to do a bit of work on my boat.
A bit of background, about 6 years ago I bought a Spirit 20 with a 4 pot Mercruiser but needing a new leg. After some research, I had a local, to the boat (in the SE of England - I have a habit of doing things the wrong way ), guy fit a replacement V6 and leg. He did a great job at a fair price and I was happy. On the way home, a test run was made, and all was great except it was a little under propped, as was expected, as the biggest prop the guy had was still a bit small.
Having got it home (near Aberdeen) I took the boat out once (almost exactly 4 years ago) but it developed a bit of a misfire. I took it home, fitted new cap and plugs, then work went mad and it has been untouched since.
Work has no become a bit more civilised, and I would like to recommision the boat, but I still do not have time to do the work myself. Does anybody have any recommendations of someone they would trust to do the work? The nearer to Aberdeen the better obviously, but I am a realist and if it means towing it back to the south coast, then so be it!
Any recommendations highly appreciated.
