Ok my PH beacons of knowledge, answer me this please:

My contract states that for the period of time I have been working for the company I am required to give "one month's notice". Can someone clear this up for me.

Say I wanted to leave on Friday 17th September this year. Would I hand in my notice on Tuesday 17th August or Friday 20th August. I can't work out if it is a calander month or just 4 working weeks and I can't really pop into the MD to ask.

Cheers thumbup

One calendar month.

If it was four weeks, then your contract would say four weeks.

That's what I thought, but it seemed a good idea to check.

Typically you will be able to negotiate to 28 days though as it makes everything much easier.

All depends how your current employer takes to you handing in your notice.

Good luck!

Make sure you bin your notice after you've been paid.
