It's time for an equipment refresh here at Smith Towers.

Currently have a really old 42" Samsung plasma that doesn't do HD and has to go.

The system will be:

SkyHD
PS3
Onkyo 578
Anthony Gallo Nucleus Micro 5.1 speakers

All of which I have now bought (full marks to the Anthony Gallo clearance store thumbup)

Which just leaves the TV.

For aesthetics, I'm looking at the Samsung LED TVs. I know not everyone likes them, but I've had a few and think they're perfectly fine, plus other slim TVs have the inputs on the rear face, meaning you still have to mount them away from the wall.

Where I'm struggling is to work out which one is right. I'm looking for 46" (sit about 3m away), and think the one I want is the UE46C6530 - lower models have a 50Hz refresh rate, which sounds poo, so this seems to be a decent balance of price and performance at £1100.

Advice appreciated, but one of the big criteria is that it has to mount flush to the wall.

Looks like you have already made your mind up. See if you like them when watching SD pictures.

Happy enough with the SD picture.

I guess I don't really know enough about the more recent versions - the one I'm looking at is the Series 6 I think, and there is now a Series 9, so should I be looking at the 7,8 or 9 instead?

I don't want 3D, and I don't want to spend a fortune unless there is a compelling reason to with the newer models.
