I place an order last tuesday for a Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 2010 and have just been informed that they are now out of stock and have offered the following alternatives:

1: Wait till end of the month and have a 2011 model
2: Trek 3900 Disc 2010
3: Trek 4300 Disc 2010
4: Pinnacle Peak 2.0 2010

I really want one now but also had my heart set on the Specialized.

I'm just getting back into riding after not having one for 10+ years so going to be used for commute to work please weekend trail riding initially.

what would you suggest doing as I have no experience of Trek or Pinnacle?

TBH anything from a big manufacturer will be a good sorted bike

The differences will probably not be too huge between them

Id go for the Spesh myself although of course Lance rides a Trek!

Good luck and happy biking

If you have your heart set on a specialized then just wait the two weeks for a 2011 model, you will only kick yourself if you rush into buying something else.

+1

That bike's been one of the most popular for a good reason - worth waiting the 2 weeks for a 2011 model IMO.

That's what I've been thinking so that's for reassuring me. The good thing is getting the 2011 for same price so that saving me around £110 which is a result

Hurry up!!! Lol

seriously at that price there are a billion choices other than a specialized....

for £500 you could be looking at the Scott Scale, the GT avalanche, a cannondale trail, kona blast, commencal normal....the list is endless. its a competitive price bracket so all the major manufacturers will have something there or there abouts with comparable components.... to be honest, the merida matts 50 http://www.dalescycles.com/product_p/2009matts50d.... is pretty good value for money...

Well fair play to evans cycles they have now agreed a package whereby I pay £50 ontop of the discounted price of a 2010 sport disc for a 2011 hardrock pro disc that will retail at £599!

more than happy with that offer and well worth waiting 2-3 more weeks

thanks for your help
