So for future reference it seems that anything up to 178mph is perfectly safe in a Tuscan...

Craig how does that speed for my Griffith compare to other's you've seen at previous events? The speedo was showing roughly 170 but there's no power left after 5,100rpm in fifth and I was comfortably past that by then.

Thanks one again for Sunday, absolutely fantastic day!

Cheers - Chris

Well it's official, bye bye title

I'm just glad it's to another german twin turbo flat six rather than one of those noisy Italian or Blackpool V8 or V12s.

Very impressed to see the bunching of speeds of the Ferrari 360's. All hitting within 2 mph of each other, which I consider an achievement for the both the drivers and the manufacturer when you see there was a mix of coupe/spyder and manual/F1 gearchanges.

Roll on the next event.

Polite round of applause all round.

Well done everyone. Not 100% conditions, particularly in the wet.

Agreed Greg, a lot of those speed were hit during the wet period also!

Painey, thats the quickest for a griff 500 so far and your speedo readings concur with previous griff 500 readings at around 160.

Daz, what can I say, you held on to that crown damn well! It took some pretty major modifications to wrench it from you it has to be said. Glad to see you still managed to whup the Murci!

Roll on the next one gentlemen!

Simon, correct me if I'm wrong mate but I think your car did 600 the most laps, sounded unlike any other 911 and demolished 600 all bar two cars on the day.
600
And you drove it home.

Moreover, it seems 600 every single spectator there got a passenger seat 600 in the Beetle.

Craig, I did numerous runs at 159, 162, 162 and then 163, showing both GPS in the car and on the trap?

Interestingly, the VX220 boys who assured me they would take it "easy" on the way out, posted between 117 and 130mph!

Other notable speeds include the lovely Emma who went for a leisurly pottle in the BoxsterS and went through the traps at I believe 160mph.

A Certain Nissan primera at 109, a BMW 850 at 148 and a certain I quote, "loud sounding ferrari with a lairy stripe at 167mph"

aha, nick did too, I guess ed moves up!

Did Nick really hit 179 as well?

I guess that just shows how much difference there is between the Red Rose and the S!

Also, without wishing to poo-poo Tony's efforts in the Cerbie, I think his 178 may have been one of my runs, as it looked like they got our speeds mixed up when we ran together (I did 178, he did 160something).

Interestingly, Evo only managed 180.25mph in the factory Tuscan S when they tried to crack 200 in Germany... I reckon mine would have beaten this if it had been dry, as I was taking it really slowly round the first bend. Oh - having a fully working engine in the afternoon may have helped as well!

Maybe next time....
