so michael owen wades in saying fabio should've given him more respect etc.

i think even becks knows the writing was long on the wall pre-mclaren i dont see why the media are making such a huff about it...

saying its a huge knock as the sending off in the world cup is totally insane.

ok he could've done it better but at least he's going to get a farewell - better than having nothing mentioned at all and not realising you've already played ur last game...

I don't think anyone gives a st really, once he got the injury pre-World Cup most of us realised it was all for him, this would always be his last World Cup and he's only been plying cameos for the last few years, everyones talking about new blood so whats the big deal?

Given how the papers have gone for him it appears they smell blood in the water or something and have decided to try and make another hated manager.

Coincides with the change of sponsor. Beckham has been little more than an advertising horse for the last seven years. Kept in for £££$¥€. I mean WTF did he need to go to the Workday Cup for if it was anything but?

Crapello could've phoned the 8 year old retard to let him know personally though. hehe

I think it was fairly poor of Capello to write Beckham off without bothering to mention it to him or without actually finding a firm replacement.

Sure, there are loads of younger, fitter and faster players like Lennon and Walcott but they all fill the role in the same way. Beckham has been brilliant in his last few England performances coming on as a sub, changing the game and I think we badly missed him in South Africa.

Will he still be useful in 2 years time? Who knows, but there's absolutely no reason to write him off publicly now.

What are you talking about ?

I saw the interview and I can't see what he done wrong . If I was the manager I would have said the same thing

The media again blowing a story out proportion

outrage story whipped up out of fake media sentimentality, pandering to the both the media wes themselves and swallowed hook line and sinker by the jeremy Kyle phone in herd then repedalled (like a feedback loop) by the media, as the public mood.

Nonsense. Cloughie would turn in his grave. Way too much celebrity in English football, and much of it started with brand bckham.
