There is an interesting article in this month's QP on movements bought in for various manufacturers. It points out the difference between 7750 Valjous and modified versions of the same, etc. Also suggests Patek didn't make their own movements until recently!

Also suggests a massive increase in manufacturers who develop their own in-house movements. Begins with statements from Bremont on the difficulty in doing this on a commercial basis.

Worth digging out a copy.

I think many manufacturers have been forced to start developing their own movements as,

A) Some ETA movements are easy to copy and,
B) ETA SA have started reducing supply of ébauches to non swatch SA group manufacturers.

About time too.
