I would go with this one, three very good relaxing pieces by three great composers. Don't personally know about Yuri Bashmet, but quick youtube listen and he's a very good musician

Here's the thing... Classic FM markets themselves as a relaxing station, you can hear interviews/adverts with people saying how they find Classic FM relaxing. Thing is, it really depends on the piece. So, do you find that all classical music is relaxing or are you more discerning?

The emotion is more than relaxing to me.

had a listen now, dmtsis suggestion found me wanting to slit my wrists, bit dark for relaxing for us.

the pieces you mention Shadow are also a bit to stiring, I think Adagio classical is more our tempo by the sounds of it but nothing on that list

the Mozzart piece later in Nov was lovely but it is at the 'palais des sport' and not the 'Grande Theatre' itself mad

may go with the Mozzart as the music is more important than the venue, shame, the Grande Theatre is stunning!

thanks for your input smile

That's my feeling on those pieces, good as they are.

Why not go to the place you want to go to and feel the emotion added to the grand setting?

we ended up booking Mozart and then wandered round the Grand theatre on the way to it smile

had an incredible evening, it was our first time at a live classical performance and I think that bridged any gaps, your help made me think a little harder so thanks for the input thumbup
