removing water marks

Hi all,

Does anyone know if its easy to remove water marks from digital picture ? or is it a case of photo shop ?

You could ask the original photographer to send you versions without any watermarks on them. The results would be far superior to anything you can do with photoshop etc.

It can be done but its probably easier to just pay for the image you are thinking of stealing..

Possibly not the most tactful question to be asking in a forum full of photographers, most of whom would probably be quite miffed if they thought someone was aiming to use one of their images after removing a watermark which was put on the image to prevent such underhanded shenanigans.

I imagine they mean a date stamp?

  1. Print the photo
  2. Spread about 2 Tablespoons of mayonnaise on a paper towel.
  3. Place the paper towel on the watermark. Press lightly.
  4. Leave the mayonnaise on the watermark about 15 minutes.
  5. Lift the paper towel and check the watermark. If the mark remains, rub more mayo into it again and check it later.

I've tried Mayo - didn't seem to work. Marmite however worked a treat on it. Strange as mayo has worked in the past.

nananan start with an ample spraying of wd 40 and let to soak for 10 - 20 mins then apply duck /gaffa tape apply firmly and then with a sought of waxing manouvere pull it off lol
