Hi all.

I hope this doesn't fall foul of the advertising regulations, it is not my aim to circumvent the rules on that, I am just after some information.

I have a selection of bicycle components, that I want to sell, but I do not know

1) where the best place for that is? ebay?
2) what a few of the components are
3) what they are worth

The items I have are:

a stem
some handlebars
some marzocchi bomber suspension forks
some XT derailleurs
some HOPE disc brakes (without the discs, some scrotes nicked the wheels from my bike frown which I inherited from my brother).

there is also a planet x jack flash frame
and some quite expensive looking raceface cranks... but i dunno how to take these apart so need to get to a bike shop before i can sell them.

so:

handlebars:

disc brake (cailipers and levers)

front derailleur:

rear derailleur:

stem

marzocchi z1 freeride

thanks for the help.

Best place to find out how much that lot's worth and to offer it for sale is probably retrobike.co.uk.

Where are you based? Might be interested in the derailleur and shifters.

If i were you i'd just wack the lot on ebay. the the market decide the value.

You'll need the disc rotors for the brakes though...

eBay only as a last resort - there are far better places to sell bike bits.

OP, try the bikeradar.co.uk forums - they have a very active classifieds area and you should be able to get an idea for the value of the parts before listing them. I've just sold some pedals, a seatpost and two saddles in less than a week, and without any of the hassles associated with eBay.

edit - just read mojjo1's post above, beat me to it!

ha, i tried there but my post got instantly deleted. I guess I will just whack them up and price them on the high side, people can always offer me less if they want.

Before you sell the rear mech, might be a good idea to remove the frame's mech hanger from it and put it back on whatever frame it came off, kind of important that its on the frame rather than the rear mech wink. As far as value, they are worth as much as someone's willing to pay for them.

Oi you lot!

As much as I'd like to keep it, this thread is advertising. I've a massive box of bike bits I need to sell, but like everyone else I do it on Singletrack/Ebay/etc...
