I know its some time ago now since the volcano fiasco, but I have finally just received a refund from BMI Baby for some flights that were cancelled to the Netherlands. Its been a battle.
However, how much have they given me - without a breakdown of the amount. It seems to be about half of what we paid.
Have I been short changed compared to what the rules say I should have been refunded ? Has anyone else had any experience ?

Maybe they haven't refunded the taxes etc?

I would think the difference is due to the taxes not being refunded. It may also be partially the mark-up if you booked through a travel agent who added to the basic cost of the ticket. Most likely taxes though!

We were also caught up in the volcanic ash carry on.
Had originally booked the round trip with Jet2 and needed to re book the return flight several times before eventually getting home. They refunded the full ticket price for all the cancelled flights.

were both legs of the flight cancelled or just one?

maybe thats why they gave half???

bmi have dragged their heels on quite a few refunds

we still have a few pending still trying to chase the airline to give the customers refund back

Thanks for the ideas guys. I tried all sorts of sums to get to the total - taxes - both legs etc. Nothing works.

The only answer is another letter asking for more money - in accordance with the rules as I see them. See how long they take with that - soon be 2011.
