My 15 year old came home with his phone soaking after some party incident. Any idea's how best to tackle that? It won't switch on at the moment

take it apart, chuck it in a jar of rice for a couple of days. leave somewhere warm. Don't try and turn it on or anything in the mean time.
If you've any silica gel pouches from things you've bought now might be a good time to use them too.

Take it apart as much as possible - battery off, sim card out etc, dry any obvious water droplets with paper towel and leave it in component parts somewhere warm (airing cupboard) for 36 hours or so and try again.

Its 50:50 at best.

+1... Don't be tempted to try turning it on early.
