Hi,

I have a problem with the 3 shower rooms in the upstairs of my house, in this cold weather I have started to see condensation coming out of them and its making a mess of the ceilings.

I have had a look in the loft and seen that the fans are connected to tile vents by the means of 100mm flexi pipe, which is not secured at the fan end and bodge taped to the tile vents with scraggy bits of electricians tape.

What seems to be missing are condensation traps.

If I fit these traps, a lot of people are saying I should fit rigid pipework for the extraction? How does this attach to the fan housing? Obviously I would have to vent the trap to atmosphere too, have a look at my bodge drawing and see what you think.

God bless those time served fully qualified chaps that did the job in the first place smile

Insulating the hose may be worth a try.
Cheap and easy.

Another option would be to replace the flexible duct with a longer piece with a kink in it to act as a trap.
