Portable HDD for Macbook Pro

As the title states. Looking for a good portable HDD for my new MacBook Pro. I'm new to Mac so please be gentle, as I'm just finding my way around Apple. I've been advised that the new Toshiba Canvio is the way to go but I cant find one that's formatted for Mac.

Any will do, I've never used toshiba external HDD, always stuck with Maxtor or Western Digital. I'd suggest avoiding Seagate purely because the one I'm sat next to annoys me senseless with it's jet engine soundtrack every time it spins up. I did recently pick up one of the LaCie rugged ones, seems decent
