Haven't stayed here yet but have in the sister hotel (Tresanton) many times. Tresanton is top notch so this should be good....

Venues don't get much better than Bovey Castle however, if you do go there insist on parking your car yourself. Their valet parking attendants parked mine last time and completely trashed my alloy wheel and denied all responsibility... I went all the way to the directors but they said if their staff say they didn't do it then thats that! I asked to view the CCTV but apparently they don't have any....

Oh, and if your car doesn't fit in with their image then they insist you park it around the back... I've proven this theory as i've been there in my 08 Honda Civic Type R and i've been asked to move it round the back out of sight every time as have others i know however, turn up in the 911 and they're more than happy for it to stay out the front....

thanks for all of the suggestions, but after being put right off by some very high end prices for an old house in the country, I went up to Cheltenham and stayed at the Beaumont house hotel, 5 star luxury and attention to detail and level of service is top notch, and very reasonable prices too.
