DDs in April

before knickers get in twists about early threads; this is not the official who is going to be there thread It's a can we have a discussion and get a decision thread as I'm busy booking flights

I am Little Miss Organised - and I get paid very well for this

Bearing in mind that DDs is held on the last Thursday of the month, in April this will be 28th

However, due to a Wedding in London the UK Government have very kindly given us an extra Bank Holiday on the 29th April

So are we thinking that we will go ahead with DDs on 28th? Sod the mass of humans converging, lack of hotels/hotels prices at a premium.
Or
Do we think we should move it? If so, when would you suggest?

The 28th of April marks the 24th anniversary of my joining the army - so I ought to celebrate/commiserate/get leathered somewhere. It may just as well be DD's.

Im not even going to be in the country when that bloody wedding is on...

I booked the 3 days off to get a straight 11 days holiday off work and plan on being in France...

Maybe I could rent out the flat to some PHers for that night????

I am too, I just wanted to know when to book flights for.

In the end, I've booked the week off, either to to work from home or as holiday

Could do the week before since it's bank holiday that Friday too, but it might clash with peoples Easter plans.

Personally I think the 28th will be fine. If people are stuck for hotels then I'm sure a few of the local PHers will have spare beds available.

I voted 'don't care' but having given it further consideration I'm definitely a 'move it to the 21st' voter. Still get a holiday after and that week is a proper working week. Everyone will be away the following week.

If it goes ahead on the 28th, anyone mind if I come along for the first time? I'm going to be working all that weekend as every fecker is off apart from me, so Im covering and a few drinkies before wouldn't be a bad idea. Off to Australia for a bit in May so I wanted to 'do a DDs ' before I go.

I'm easy anyway (appallingly so after a few drinks too,apparently) so the 28th/21st? pas de problem!
