Does anyone know anywhere that can execute warranty repairs ecalls on a C5 in the Surrey area?

My passenger side seatbelt has just started playing up, as has my fuel guage - I'd like to get them fixed asap.

The fuel guage is a warranty issue, the seat belt is a re-call on 992000 vettes.

Any info much appreciated.

'fraid you're looking at a trip up to Manchester. At the moment Bauer Millett are the only GM NA dealer doing warranty work in this country ! Don't think this situation has changed in the last 6 months.

I spoke to GM in the UK about warranties in March when I was considering my new C5. They said that they would trailer the car to BM who would fix it and then trailer it back to you free of charge. Your local Vauxhall garage would also supply you with a courtesy car (they didn't say it would be a Vette though).

That's what they said - I wonder what the reality is. Please let us know how you got on.

How did things get so bad....???!!!

Maybe things'll get better when GM bring out the Vauxhall (Holden) V8 coupe Monaro soon?

BM did that for me, picked car up etc. I declined the courtesy car as too much organising for Vauxhall. Whats the seatbelt recall? My passenger side is a bit iffy retracting.

I believe OCW (Park Royal) do GM warranty work also.

Both them and BM would be my last choice for anything else !!

I'll second that! I bought some service items for my 93 a couple of years ago (plugs, wires, etc, and left feeling I had been well and truly mugged, last straw came when OCW quoted me £460 for one Goodyear rear tyre for my 93 - I got one from Eurovettes for £225)

Surely there must be an obligation by GM to make sure dealers do warranty work - after all they sold a car with a 3 year warranty...?

Is there not still a GM USA dealer near Staples Corner, West London (near M1 / North Circular)?

There used to be 10 dealers a few years ago. The Chevy website also lists:

Bristol Street Third Investments Ltd T/A Bristol Street Newcastle
Griffin House, Westmorland Road
GB-NE1 4EA Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Tyne & Wear
TEL: 00 44 - 191 232-8281
FAX: 00 44 - 191 2324136

Still quite a drive for most!

Wouldn’t consider the flat bed transport as being a good thing either. We now have two lovely scratches under the front facia after the truck monkey revved the nuts of it to get it up the ramps skidding on the facia as the stupid truck didn’t have lowering suspension and the ramps were too steep, even with the 1 foot length of 2x4 he used on the ends of the ramps.

It’s been on the back of an AA truck with lowering suspension before and it just about went on without grounding so it can be done just not on the truck BM sent.

Asked them to fix a bunch of rattles while they had it for other warrantee work. It eventually came back with new more persistent and louder rattles.

A couple of hours on the corvette forum and one big whack in the right place on the door panel and sorted, don’t know why it took them 3 weeks, still got some of the original ones though.

Well you can probably tell one C5 owner not too happy with GM customer support. its ....
