Flying to Whistler tomorrow to meet my business partner who I haven't seen for 9 months. We arrive in resort at about 10pm.

Where can we go?

Nowhere too loud as we're getting old and want to talk

Any recommendations?

No idea if it is still there as I last went 8 years ago but Tommy Africas is a great place. Had some hilarious nights there.

Not the place for a quiet drink and a chat though.

Thanks, certainly a start point.

I think Earls has a bar and isn't too noisy. Not sure when it's open till though. (Very good steak!)

I have a softspot for the Longhorn at the bottom of the ski run, in a nachos and jugs of beer kind of way. Lots of outdoor heating too but probably won't be quiet.

Longhorn

The Brewhouse is a decent brew pub with other locations in Vancouver.

I seem to remember a place called Black's pub in Whistler. I was only 16 at the time but I'm sure thats where my dad and family friends dad used to go for a drink after dinner. They seemed to really like it.

With any of the restaurants you run the risk of it being busy and noisy. It also depends where you're staying and how far you're willing to walk or stagger.

The GLC could be a good call as long as there is no live music. Alternatively, if you want somewhere cosy and quiet, the Mallard Lounge in the Westin isn't bad for a hotel bar and has fireplaces. If you fancy something more glamorous I'd give the bars at either the Bearfoot Bistro or Araxi a look.

The bar at Araxi is the best of these answers.

The real answer, though, is "bed". It will be 6am London time by the time the OP is ready to go out. Well past bed time.
