Talk about total hysterical media sensationalism! Bleating about "speeding" being the cause of crashes/death/misery etc etc, then showing clips of obviously stolen cars, being followed by numerous police units/ air support "speeding", then crashing.... Totally twisted, spun nonsense. Then there was the 50 vs 58 Mph test, where AMAZINGLY the second car didn't stop in time... WHo would have thought that would have happened eh? rolleyes

The really disgusting bit (IMHO) was the parading of a little girl left in a vegative state after being crashed into by some prick doing 70+ Mph in a 30.. Yes the speed was a major factor, but the fact that he was 19, driving his mums Range Rover like an utter c*** somehow got overshadowed by the "speeding" part.

Sadly, while people take this attitude that speed = safty/danger, we will NEVER see a reduction in accidents or casualtys. People really need to learn to think about thier driving, not just blindly accepting that speeding is dangerous, or driving below the speed limit is safe! Rant over mad

Nice modding rolleyes... Speed, Plod & the law would have been a FAR better place to move it to, any chance?

I couldn't agree more. Speed itself does not kill. Its bad driving thats the problem, and sometimes bad pedestrians who walk out into the road expecting cars to stop for them

That episode was quite old. Before they filmed it one of the researchers started a thread on here asking if anyone would like to go on the show, it didn't go well.

I agree, these programs are ridiculous. They show criminals doing crimey things crashing and burning causing chaos. Then try and lump that behaviour into the same as Mr 2.4 kids mondeo man doing slightly more than the legal limit on his way to work.
The worst thing is that the brainwashed morons we have managed to produce in this country believe it.
