C6 front number plate assay
Discussion
MAN, that's bad. It flattens the shape of the front end, and just looks "bolted on" with no design in mind.
This sounds bad, but just as the C4 Vette was nearly the end due to flagging sales, GM's misguided design of the C6 (which doesn't get good press from the public's letters in this months "Corvette Fever") could actually spell the end to our favourite american sports car.
That is unless, of course, they realise that flagging sales are due to the design, and make the C6 a very short production run before the introduction of the C7....

That is awful and is clearly an after thought. How does it stay on the car?. Choose from the following options:
a) you drill holes through the front nose and insert self tappers
b) you use double sided sticky tape (like everything you have ever bought from Ecklers) so it's bound to fall off
c) the guy in the picture drapes himself across your bonnet (hood) and holds it in place for the duration of your journey
d) the nose of the C6 is actually made from steel and it is held on magnetically

OK as this is such an emotive issue, I have spoken to GM and have obtained a transcript of what the guy with the microphone said.
"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen and particularly those of you who have travelled thousands of miles for the unveiling of the first GM approved accessory for your C6. Its a, err........... holder for your number plate......."
Rapturous applause from the audience
"Now as you know, we at GM always want to involve Corvette owners so we are running a competion for anyone who can suggest a way of fitting the number plate holder to the car. All entries must be submitted to our Chief Design Engineeer who is likely to be sacked by the end of the week ....."

Knew I'd seen one of those things somewhere before - right on the nose of a mid-1990s Camaro. The F-car used to be very snouty with the Chevy even more so than the Pontiac. Same pathetic licence plate holder just stuck on the front. If that's the US version shown in the pix then I dread to think what a full width Euro version would be like.
