I am moving into two new offices soon and need to install a line and get broadband. I have been looking around and came across XLN and was wondering if anyone used them. Or if anyone knows of any good deals on the go. I have had a nightmare with Talk Talk so would rather give them a miss.

I switched to XLN and have nothing but positive things to say about them, they are always friendly and available when you try and call them and the entire order/setup was far better than that of BT or Opel when we used them.

As a general rule of thumb avoid any of the really cheap and/or well known brands, especially if they do B2C and go for a small B2B only independent. Within the Independent B2B's there will of course be sharks and bad customer service, but there are also gems with amazing customer service at amazing prices with no rollover contracts and sometimes even 30 days notice at any time i.e. no minimum contract.

I like to think that a company with no minimum contract has to really work hard at customer service to ensure you stay with them long term by building customer loyalty.

I sighed up for 3 packages from XLN, Opal and BT to run a VOIP setup with 12 handsets. The sign up from each was easy enough but both BT and Opal could not confirm install dates etc at point of sign up.

It took BT 3 weeks to confirm my order, when calling them then they claimed as i sighed up for a budget package it was online service only and the phone team could not help.

Opal gave me 3 different install dates then my live was eventually installed after 6 weeks.

XLN sent me ongoing txt messages including broadband user/pass and informed me of every step. When you call them they answer fast and fix problems right away.

I do know XLN have a bad rep with pushy sales people but apart from that I love em!
