Hi all,

Just got my Vette back from having its new clutch package fitted (thanks to those who recommended Carolina Clutch - GREAT service, Neil who put me in touch with Allan who fitted it - great job so far, and everyone else for their input!) Got myself a lightened flywheel, uprated clutch and everything all for less than I would have paid B+M just for a stock clutch!

Anyway, what with my new ability to handle more power (hehehe... you can guess what's coming..) I'm intrigued to get some suggestions as to how to squeeze a few more cheap thrills out of the beast....

I'm thinking of a Vararam and then not sure what else... I can't afford to do anything drastic at point (new wheels being a priority) but was wondering what my other option were.

It's a 98 6-speed. Will LS1-edit do anything? Will the vararam be worthwhile? How cheap / easy is it to fit a 100 shot of Nos? What's out there that I don't know about?

All ideas gratefully received..... :-)

I have a 2nd hand Blackwing air filter for sale that I just took of my Z06, so let me know if you are interested. Only reason I took it off is 'cos of the 383 TT kit being fitted.

hmmm a blackwing eh? Will it fit directly on my car if it's off your Z06?

How much you looking for? (e-mail address in my profile if you'd rather do it that way)

Did you notice the difference when you fitted it?
And any reason why you chose the blackwing over the Vararam?

Cheers,

Chris

And how easy is it to fit a new set of pistons after the Nos????

Nos should come with a health warning "Continued use will damage not only your engine but your pocket as well"!

It uses an adapter of differing sizes for the varying diameters of the MAF sensors. I thru away the one it came with as it was too small and bought some silicon hose instead. So yes it will fit.

£50 should cover it.

Seemed to pickup quicker compared with the standard airbox. Personal preference as I looked at a whole load of induction options before I settled on the Blackwing and a carbon fibre airbridge. (Might sell the airbridge as well but waiting until the turbo kit is in before I decide).

LOL! ok, ok - I get the point. It's only an idea i've been toying with.

If I get this Blackwing then, what next? (got the X-pipe and exhaust)
