I've looked at Sinn and Damasko watches lovingly over the last few days but my budget won’t allow for one for at least a year or two. frown

Is there such a watch that encompasses the looks (and to a certain extent, quality) of these two fantastic watch makers on a small budget of around £150? For that price I'm not expecting wonderful build quality but something to the level of my Seiko Monster would be nice.

Thanks for the suggestion. smile

Apart from the face, that particular watch bears little resemblance to the DA46 I posted above IMO. It's not just the face I'm looking for, but the bead blasted metal case and bezel. I think it’s the bezel that really makes the above Damasko.

I think you might be a bit limited if you are insisting on a divers style rotating bezel with an aviator face.

Seiko did make a very Sinn esque model though. Have a trawl through the Seiko Divers section on Creations website.

I'm sure I am. In the real world I'd just have to go ahead and get the DA46 but I can't frown

I'm not adverse to modifying a watch to achieve a similar look if someone can advise how to do so, on a good base watch to start with?

Are you referring to this Seiko?

If so it has a nice face a bezel but looks a bit too bulky to carry off the look IMO.

Yes, that was the one.

Have you had a look at Yobokies Photobucket account ? He modifies Seikos with aviator dials. Don't know if a modded 007 would be too chunky ?

What about this? Seiko 7S26 modification.

This particular watch is sold, but he has listed the parts he used.

If it's the account I'm thinking of, the yes. I'll have another look over it thumbup

I think the face will be the easy part to get right, but the bezel is key. I heard you can fit a particular Rolex bezel to some Seikos. Can this be done with a Damasko bezel?

Here's my modded Seiko based on an SKXA 053 which I'm pretty sure has the same case/bezel/crown/movement as 007s and 009s. Not quite the look of a Sinn face wise but that can be done - have a look a Yobokies, 10watches and Motorcity Watches for a huge selection of faces, hands, bezels, crystals etc, mostly for 007/009 Seikos. I've just ordered a whole load of bits to transform my 009 (unless I get a head on it's own soon), you can pretty much make up any look you want.
