What's the job?

Were any of them any good?

Despite what we say on here, if there was someone that was perfect for a job, I wouldn't care that much if he wore smart jeans to an interview.

I turned up to my last interview in jeans and got the job.

Why don't you interview the person, not the clothes they wear. After all a shirt and tie can't put in any overtime.

Perhaps they are using you so they can show they are making the effort to hunt for a job, and the jeans are their insurance against actually getting one!

Its a sales role.

I expect people to look in an interview how my Customers would expect them to look in a meeting!!

you could always ask them why they did that in the interview couldn't you?

I've never understood the people who think this is acceptable. To turn up to any interview wearing jeans just screams 'I couldn't give a toss what I look like' which shouts pretty loudly to the interviewer about your view on the job as well.

Why bother, interview lasts 2 mins if they look like they are walkinng in on the way to the pub.

What's the job? I'll come for the interview in a (badly fitting M&S) suit.

No, but they can give a pretty good indication of attitude and how seriously they're taking the interview process.

I had a guy once who turned up in a suit, and the first thing he did was take his jacket off and sling it across the back of a chair. That, his general deportment, and the fact he couldn't look anyone in the eye told me far more than his fanciful answers to interview questions.

Sadly the decision wasn't up to me and he was hired against my judgement. Lasted about six months if I recall correctly...

You just potentially sent your best employee packing because of some pre-conceived notion that trousers are a relevant qualification or experience.

Well done.

No, it indicates "I couldn't give a toss what you think about how I've dressed", even more revealing...

So so very wrong.

Jeans to an interview = no job.

No, it indicates that they are taking the interview just as seriously as the next candidate as the interviewer should be interviewing the candidate, not the candidate's wardrobe.

I had a lad turn up in shorts once. After a couple of minutes he was honest enough to admit he didn't really want the job.

How about it?

Surely attitude is how they portray themselves with their personality?
