Need some help with Ladies Rolex
Discussion
Hi all...I am getting married later this year and I've been thinking about what to get the future Mrs Mathmos as a present on the day. One of the things I've been considering is a Rolex, but..my budget is an absolte maximum of £1000, preferably less than that!
I've been looking at some vintage ones on ebay, but I honestly have no idea what I should be looking for and don't want to fid myself blindly bidding on something. So, is there anyone out in PH land that can offer some guidence? What model's should I be looking at? How much should I be looking to pay? Can anyone reccommend where to buy from as I've never been convinced about buying something expensive from ebay!

I don't know the ladies market very well, but you're going to struggle to find a decent Rolex for £1k. I suggest that you have a look at other brands like Tag, Ebel, Cartier
Also, be incredibly wary of buying any expensive watch off ebay. The only way I would do it is if I could pick it up cash on collection and go with the seller to a jewellers of my choosing to have it validated.

Thanks chaps, she already has a Tag so that's out, but will check out some of the other brands.
I did spot this which would be about the right price, though I am not sure if she would like the styling -

If you're happy with a vintage Rolex there is plenty of choice sub £1k (I bought an early 60s hand-wound Rolex Oyster for less than £500 a couple of weeks back), but buy from a dealer if you don't know what you're looking for. Buying from eBay can be tricky and isn't recommended unless you're fully aware of what you're buying!
