Windows Recovery virus

The OH managed to get this virus today while looking for letter templates online. It removes everything from the start menu, disables antivirus and firewall and looks like it deletes all documents and files. It shows that there are problems with the hard disk and redirects all online searches to wierd websites.

I've tried a few things and so far the only thing that has worked has been reboot to safe mode, restore to a previous time and rescan the pc after.

I hope no one here suffers with it.
