I have a thug of a neighbour and we have been feuding for years.. he has had 12 various charges against him which have accumulated to nothing, and after a long ongoing immature pointless battle he has played his latest move.

He has half parked his car on my land, and isnt moving it,even the police asked him and he said no,it isnt causing an obstruction to me getting in or out.

As its on my private land its a civil matter, my question is..

I was about to build a wall between the properties where he has parked across,if I were to start building the wall and concrete bricks in under his car not touching it so he couldn't move it,is that illegal ?

He could of course remove them but would be classified as vandalism & a charge ( again ).

I know this sounds petty but unfortunately I've been dragged into it.

looking forward to any answers.. please help !

Put up a sign which states that any unauthorised vehicles will be clamped and there will be a £250 release fee. State that if the fee is not paid it will be increased by £100 per day. If after 7 days the fine is not paid in full the offending vehicle will be removed and crushed.

Then call an SIA accredited firm to come and clamp the car. After 7 days, have it removed and crushed, your local scrappy can come round and collect it...

Whatever you do, setup concealed cctv. This is going to get worse before it gets better.

I also think we're going to need a bit more background info here.

Personally I would release the handbrake and push it away, but I would recommend this for anyone else smile

My advise would be that whatever you do, in the end you will have to some how make amends with this neighbour. A feud will make your life hell. It just simply isn't worth it.

Let the air out of one of the tyres when he's out. This may seem petty but it may cause enough of an air of dilapidation to make the local scrotes set it on fire.

This. Maybe even try and find a mediator to sort it out. Nobody ever gains from this, both of you will only ever lose- sleep, hair, low blood pressure etc etc

You need to agree to disagree and move on. You dont need to be friends, but you do need to get on.

Have a look on your council website and see if it fits their criteria for an abandoned or nuisance vehicle .

If it seems to fit , try reporting it to them and see if they will remove it .

As a couple of examples , here are pages from some local council websites

http://www.north-ayrshire.gov.uk/PlanningAndTheEnv...

http://www.southlanarkshire.gov.uk/info/1231/envir...

This last link contains some definitions and useful advice - try referring your own council to it

If you are building a wall and the car is in the way, then just build the wall over it...

Apply for the V5 then ask the council to scrap it for you if it turns up?

Probably a bit late now for any reconciliations, if there's that much history between you.

Try www.gardenlaw.co.uk for good non-PHer-type solutions.

Out of interest, would it be legal to build 4 walls around it to block it in?

As others have said, escalation is never the answer, however tempting the thought may be. To 'win' this situation, you need to establish your superiority in a way that he can't respond to. Go and see a mediator - the council or CAB should be able to tell you where to get hold of one. Set up a meeting and work from there.

Can't you just push it out of the way with the help of the bricklayers and just build the wall?

Photos?

Apply for planning permission for the wall or a second driveway? He WOULD be guilty of obstruction in either case surely?
