Reporting a drink driver

I reported both my brother-in-law AND his wife (on separate occasions!). Both were stopped within 15 mins of my call and both were banned for 18 months. the police never divulged my name - they assured me they simply tell the court "acting on information received". Neither b-in-law or his wife contested it anyway - he was 4 times over the limit at 10am. she was caught actually taking a swig out of a vodka bottle in a supermarket car park and was 3 times over the limit!
I hope they've sought treatment fo their alcoholism...Is this the guy you reported?
A habitual offender apparently, I can see why you wouldn't want him to know it was you in case you ended up in his swimming pool...

Reported someone recently, giving the name, car reg and where they'd just left and were headed to. Found out they were stopped and were over the limit.
The police definetly acted swiftly, so good information definetly gets a quick response.
1 thing I couldn't believe though.
Phoned 999, I said I wanted to report a probable drink driver, it was early afternoon, and the call taker actually questioned me wanting to do it (by saying 'what, now?').
I didn't know if to say yes, or no, and I was on the line for my health.

To me that comes across as 'are they driving now', not 'you want to report it now'.The police definetly acted swiftly, so good information definetly gets a quick response.
