Well today I got a gift, due to a hold up on the main route I diverted through 'my best friends' area to fine 5 cars on the road clamped for not having any tax including a car right outside his house, Moday has not felt so good for ages. I just hope if he can't use the car he won't go out with the dog more often...

I had similar issues with my open plan front drive. Seemed like every time I went to the car there was a fresh pile waiting for me.

I solved the problem by printing out a big sign that read "Please pick up after your dog! CCTV in operation and evidence will be forwarded to the dog warden"
Never had a problem again, in fact, it was amusing to see just how many dog walkers crossed the road rather than walk past the drive smile

A little bit of disinformation in here:-

1. Tenancy agreements. These will vary between each and every social housing provider, and very few will have any clause in them about keeping pets unless the bloke lives in a flat. In any case, and for obvious reasons, no tenancy agreement will have any clause about this or any dog crapping away from the estate.

2. In law, cats are wild animals. Dogs are not. That is why nobody will "do" anything about cat turds. They have the same status in law as rats, squirrels, foxes etc and you wouldn't expect anybody to do anything about turds from those sources.

3. In the current economic circumstances, luxuries like Council Dog Wardens are becoming an endangered species - I haven't seen the van in my area for a couple of years. Your Council may still have one, but TBH they are going to do sod all about "standing" turds: - "Hmmmm, yes sir, it looks like a dog turd to me, but where's the proof it came out of that dog over there?" They don't do DNA analyses - in the great scheme of things, it ain't the end of the world. A good rain storm and it'll dissolve (if they didn't then, given the number of dogs in the country and the thousands of years they've been here, we'd be neck deep in the bloody stuff by now) wink

.
Right .Lets look at these one by one
1) - My Council tenancy agreement ( on which other social tenancy agreements are based ) specifically states that permission is needed to keep a PET ( NOW to my mind that's cat /dog /any animal that needs looking after) . It also states that permission will normally be granted ,BUT can be revoked if the PET causes problems to other tenants /RESIDENTS living nearby etc .-thereby giving LA powers to ask owner to stop the PET causing problems .
2) - Cats are wild animals ,like Rats squirrels, foxes- try telling that to a RSPCA official if you decide to get a 12 bore out and decimate the cat population stting on your lawn .
3) - Council dog wardens still exist - the problem as I said is getting their ass out of gear - for that you may need to find a councillor . ( with the right size boots)
1. Your tenancy agreement is specific to your tenancy with your Council/ Housing Association/ Private landlord. They are not standard around the country (you can always check that with the Ombudsman service if you don't believe me). Your tenancy agreement may well say that you need permission to keep a pet, but it won't (for obvious reasons) state where you can or cannot allow it to relieve itself.
2. I was merely stating what the law says. Believe it or not as you will - it makes no odds to me smile
3. I didn't say they didn't exist, just that they are an endangered species
1) - this comes from a standard council tenancy agreement which doesent say anything about dogs crapping ,but DOES mention that in event of it causing problems permission to keep a dog could bre revoked .
2) -Wild animals - but let your dog ( out of natural protective instinct) kill a rat/squirrel or even a cat ( which has decided to pester a dog) , then you could be guilty of hunting with dogs . Rather nasty ,since dog is only protecting it's own property .
3) Wardens -still there ,and taking over the police role in stray dogs -so certainly not extinct . Just like noise abatement - it's when they operate that's the problem .

Best way is to post the crap to the offender without using a stamp, they will then have to go down to the sorting office and pay the no stamp penalty, after a few times they will hopefully get the message smile

Having moved from a rough council estate a few year back I would wage good money that the Social housing lot are the likely culprits. They typically dont give a sh@t about anybody else apart from themselves. If I was you I would:

1/Relocate the wall at the earliest opportunity, or
2/Install a anti- dog foul sign use symbol style signage rather than text as some of the natives are likely to be unable to read!
3/Get a CCTV to overlook the area and contact the Dog warden to inform them of your problem.

If you happen to catch the culprits in the act then follow then back to their squat place the fresh turd in a light weight paper bag set it on fire and leave it on the house doorset of the owner. Ps dont forget to ring the doorbell before scuppering off. This number works a treat! it gives them first hand experience of what dog stte on your soles and trousers is like. biggrin

It was tempting....smile

Husband caught one dog owner once, he stood there looking quite sheepish as other half had a right go. Dog owner actually said he had nothing to pick it up with! Husband nipped in the house, got him one of our dog bags and handed it to him and stood and watched him pick it up.

My dear old mum bless her is always out with her little dog swinging poo bags as she walks. Anyway, one particular day she picked up the poo and was on autopilot. She walked past a wheelie bin at the end of someones drive and automatically dropped it in. About 100 yards down the road she realised what she had just done and returned to get it back. Homeowner was laughing at the sight of this little old lady trying to reach in the bottom of his bin to get her poo bag back. He told her it wasn't a problem but she was mortified. Just goes to illustrate how decent some dog owners are compared to others.

My biggest bug bear is seeing young kids walking big dogs they can barely control all on their own, you just know there is zero chance of them even attempting to pick up after it is there?
