Needs a MOT and VIC whatever that is, looking at around £100 already, thats if it passes its MOT first time, which I'm not too sure it will.

Breakers yard, two doors for £100 and a couple of hours work = fixed car and £1500.

Why does it need an MOT and VIC?
AFAIK Mots aren't cancellable and youd only need a VIC if it's CATC

Great news though - well sorted smile

Choosing the easy option of buying another car and scrapping your current one is going to cost you big time.

Bank the cheque
Fix the car.

They've classed it as a CAT C. They've said if I want to continue to insure it with them, I'll need to send them evidence of the new MOT and VIC. I doubt it will pass its MOT again, only just did last time without anything major!

I would fix it, if it doesn't need big investments for the MOT, and drive the nuts of it in a year.
