Isn't racing on the public road already illegal?

This precise point is always missed. When I start at silly o clock for a long drive, the lunacy begins when people go to work. I may have a good few hours then WHAM. The motorway IQ went into minus figures.

I still say - it's amazing how many trucks are on the m'ways and trunk routes at night, yet the roads still remain clear and free, roadworks and roadwork closures aside.

I don't think there are many/any more hgvs on these routes by day, yet by day the roads grind to a halt. At night, in car or hgv, you can easily make progress and generally romp around the country.

Why? What is the difference? If the hgvs are the cause of congestion, why do roads grind to a halt at 8am having been clear for the previous 13 hours?
For chr**t sake !!!! Here we go .

For years I could be up at 3am in Worcestershire and parked up, through security and airside at Heathrow by 5:30am, guaranteed. Lots of trucks and vans about.

Leave house at 7 though....

Seems he is !HGV and van drivers are professionals but around 8 am
They are outnumbered by commuters and school run mums same thing happens at the weekend when these morons take to the road and even a few of them can choke up a motorway with poor lane discipline and selfish driving.

Apart from one action being inconvenient and the other potentially lethal.

Just about sums it up really, can close the topic now.

With morons like this at the wheel, the problem will never be solved. Professionals? I doubt many of them could spell the word let alone be described by it.

Because he really means what hes saying doesn't he?? just step back and think about how big his accident rate would be, he d be unemployable.....

But driving an artic which I do, its just simply amazing how many car driver dawdle in the outside lane coming past, but as soon as my indicator goes on they ve found another gear and are comin past whether I like it or not.

We all see that. There's a space, someone indicates their intent, then you see the nose lift of a vehicle driven by a moron intent on creating conflict.

The only reason we don't see some truck drivers doing that, and please note the heavy emphasis on the word some, is due to lack of acceleration.

It would be the same crowd who use might is right and bully their way around.

The only time I have been subject to the target of a deliberately and potentially murderous lane change was from a trucker. Tried to punt me into the barrier on the A14 near Kettering. Lost his job for that the .
