Lovely.
I bet he's self employed too, he'd never hold down a job with a big employer with an attitude like that.

What gearjammer is referring to has always gone on because it has always been the case that if a trucker gave a good and clear indication in advance that he needs to pull out, the cars near him would accelerate and block him in.

This has always been the case and has nothing to do with speed limiters. Nothing has changed and nothing is worse than some time in the past.

Imo it only causes concern for those who drive on m'ways with no awareness of their surroundings.

Can anyone tell me anything positive about driving in the UK these days?
I can get to over 100mph within about 1 mile of leaving my driveway.

I live in the Lake District. It's like a huge automotive playground.

There are only 7 fixed speed cameras in the whole of the 4784 miles of road in the county, and not much traffic.

You should try it sometime.

I believe there is a lot of road in the UK that is pretty much as 'open' as it was in the 70's.... Scotland, Wales, Northumberland. Keeping a sensible head on and NOT being daft near populations. Being cautious even past remote homesteads. You can still use a car for pleasure a lot.

I don't really need to respond to that, you've made my point for me very eloquently. Thanks.

So why do you think this has always been the case?.............

This , unfortunately ,seems to be the attitude of your average truck driver today and does happen many times a day not just by foreigners .

Do it in front of me and the footage will be posted where it will cause you the most aggravation !

Hard for me to answer 'cos I have always co-operated with other traffic pretty much, but I think I'm in a small minority.

I'd doing a daily commute into a city centre nowadays, something I haven't done for decades. I find it quite amusing watching how the majority of fellow commuters all try to 'beat the other guy' and block him in if need be, yet we're all going to the same place at the same speed.

It is a curious star of affairs. The race to the next red, race to the next jam 30 yards ahead, block em in, don't let em out. Car drivers as a group are clueless self centred egotistical maniacs with an extra dose of self centred. There are a few individuals in the world to brighten the day.

Those that think they are driving gods spoil it for those of us who are.....

Dashcams are hardly common yet you imply that more than one person has captured you on one and bothered to send footage in to your boss?

Perhaps your boss has the same low standards.

But thanks for the heads up that your boss is equally as irresponsible as you .

mikeveal, I get the impression you think you have the moral high ground here, far from it as far as I can see, you're no different to the guy who says he's just going to pull out wether you like it or not, I just want to stay as far away from the pair of you when I'm on the road!!!

Chicken or egg? Frankly I don't care two hoots about moral high ground, as I'm equally sure the elephant racers don't care two hoots about the traffic behind them.

I don't race to close the gap when I see an indicator go on. I agree that behaviour would be as bad as the elephant racers themselves.

If I see a lorry lining up for an overtake, I'll close the gap to the car in front of me to just under the length of the lorry long before we catch up with them. Attempting to block a safe overtake that they've decided to make would be futile and dangerous. Far better to remove the temptation to go for the overtake in the first place.

I really don't feel the need to justify my actions. Feel free to vilify to your hearts content. And I am truly very grateful for the extra space you're offering me, I'm currently driving KR63WLO, move aside please. hehe

What car drivers don't realise is that unless you flash us out, weather dependant it can be hard to judge exactly where you are in relation to where the end of our trailers are. (after all you are 45+ ft away)

So it may seem like were pulling out on you but ignorance is bliss and pulling the leaver to flash us out must be a lot of hard work............ picking your arm up etc....

As ive said before nothing will change were still the scum of the earth holding working people up getting to work etc. (as were just out for a leisurely drive and have no where to be etc) (booking times blah blah)

But what none of you realise is with out us your shops shelves would be empty/garages would have no fuel blah blah blah the lists endless.

This is all fine, so long as you understand that pretty much everyone else does the same and always has done, irrespective of speed limiters and elephant racing, which is why car drivers then moan that hgvs "just pull out".
This is where it comes from and why it happens.
