I don't know how different things are in England, but assuming the Scottish system isn't significantly different as far as STPs and HDC is concerned, what I've said is correct. Automatic release at the halfway point, up to 6 months can be served on HDC. 16 month sentence, May 2012. 4 months in a prison. Next 4 months Home Detention Curfew. Next 8 months on licence.
