Yes we can, and we should. That’s the only way, as a society, we progress. This concept we have of ‘free will’ is a complete and utter fallacy. We’re all part of a very complex system, that’s what a society is. This ridiculous western notion of liberty, freedom and the rights of the individual being sacrosanct is simply not compatible with how we have evolved as social animals. We live in groups, and to survive and thrive, we have to depend on each other. That includes taking some responsibility for those of us who don’t live up to the moral or ethical standards we currently hold as societal norms.
You say there is a 'ridiculous western notion of liberty, freedom and the rights of the individual', which I agree with you on. But social norms are based on and reflect that notion. If some of us in society disagree with the very basis of those norms then we sure aren't taking any responsibility for failure to meet them.

Most posters can hardly string a sentence together.

Why exactly?

It often gets trotted out, but makes no sense.

Indeed, let's not speak ill of Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot or Churchill!

It is a tired old adage.

It probably applies if your neighbour dies and she used to steal your apples.

In the case of Hitler, etc... probably best only to speak ill of them.

In the case of nasty men who control and abuse their partners, ending up in prison... What he did was not a "moment of madness" or ill judged driving moment (a la 10PS) but a systematic and continued campaign of controlling and abusive behaviour.

Churchill? Not without his critics, but same hall of fame as Stalin and Pol Pot seems a little extreme.

Sentence? Many are struggling with words. First time I've ever seen someone spelling 'can't' as 'carnt'

In a wilful, pre-determined and conscious attempt to kill 20 million people?

I don't think anyone is condoning his actions.

Just that to have lots of people chatting st about someone who is dead is sort of pointless.

People chatting st about pretty much anything on this forum is pointless, when you think about it.

I'm pretty certain that was somebody else who claimed they were "powerfully built" and women found him irresistible.

I think, but not sure, it may have been 911motorsport. Happy to be corrected, and apologies if it wasn't them, but it is now a 10-12 year old cliche.

Edit to add - PH search function in rare victory shocker!

Some hold him culpable for the death of just 3 million Indians, we won't mention his role in the slaughter of a generation of Australian and kiwi young men.
Churchill was of his time when life was held to a very different value from today especially if you were from the colonies
