Honestly, these are my thoughts...
Take it as a life lesson.
Dont do anything in future unless you can clearly see yourself getting out and following it through.
Dont be TOO hard on yourself or you wont move on, wont reflect accurately and wont learn anything.
Read "Watch My Back" by geoff thompson. If it doesnt seriously improve your take on this entire experience and any future strategies, i'll pay for the book for you.
Sorry you had this experience.

However massive, he isn't as big as a car, in that situation I wouldn't hesitate to use my car as a weapon if that was my only choice.

speak to the Police and ask them hyperthothetically what action could or would be taken against a driver in your situation given the circumstances that you have described. The Police would also be interested in the wellfare of the children in the car as would Childrens services. At this stage you have not reported anything just taken advice which will inform you of your next step.

Sounds harsh but I agree with this fella. You wouldn't do it to the guy if he was stood next to you in a bar, so don't do it in your car. It doesn't excuse his terrible driving, but sometimes you have to realise that a big bloke like that probably isn't going to react favourably to being called a w ker to his face. As somebody else said, sometimes you need to take a deep breath, sigh, and let them get on with their lives.
