Um, not proud of this but had a letter thru stating that I've been clocked doing 94 in 60 limit.
Thinking back, I'd been following a line of traffic doing 40-45mph for 5+ miles, got onto a long straight & overtook. When I passed the car at the front of the queue I lifted off & slowed down to NSL, then passed a camera van. Thought all was ok then had a letter in the post.....
Have a clean licence at the moment....
Advice???
Good solicitor???

Unlikely to be an offer of fixed penalty at that [alleged] speed, so expect a summons once the driver's identity has been confirmed.
If convicted, 94mph in a 60mph limit is likely to result in 6 points or a ban of less than 56 days, a fine of maybe 100% of the offender's net weekly earnings, court costs and the mandatory Victim Support Surcharge.
Note that an early guilty plea qualifies for a discount of up to 1/3 from any fine imposed.

Go for a ban. Short ban must be a lot better than 3 years of points.

More than 30 over limit is almost always a ban unless you are a pro footballer or one of the very few on here who have got off but won't reveal how ...

For 86 in a 60mph zone, on a clear day with no aggravating circumstances I copped for 5 points & £1000 fine back in 2005. IIRC 85mph in a 60 is the threshold for a fixed penalty offer.

Shep Almost exactly the same for me, except that it was 86 in a 50. 6 points, £1000 fine.

TX. Not proud, but 15 years ago or so got done for 79 in a 40 and then 82 in the same place the following day (genuinely hidden camera I didn't get pulled then just do the same thing the next day!) Also it's a dual carriageway with no turnings and fields in both sides and I thought it was derestricted... But I digress I got 6 points and a £300 quid fine for the first and 6 points and 330 for the second. However they decided not to ban me on totting. I said I had recently started big job, which was going v well, and losing my license would be serious problem but that was the only claim I made. I have no idea WHY they decided not to but I was hugely grateful I must say. Honestly didn't seem to make much difference to my insurance which was unexpected.

TX. I have been done for 76 in a 40 (temp limit in roadworks on motorway) and 105 in a 70. Both times (approx 5 years apart) I received 6 points and £350/£250 respectively fine. I never went to court for first one (was naive and did not think it would make a difference if I went to court or not), but did the second, and pleaded guilty both times. Have not played football for a while, and been very open on other threads as to what happened. Go to court and play the game, and you could be ok.
