Well I think that an Ex-PM should be charged with war crimes.

But as to Saville, you have to consider the question of who would most people believe? One young girl or a rich and famous charity fundraising celeb?
But maybe if one had stood up, they would have come out of the woodwork just as they are doing now.

As for the folks who mentioned the internet. Is that as much as saying the internet would have resulted in this coming out at the time? The internet has existed for over 20 years as far as I understand it.

thing that really pisses me of about all this is the likes of
Sandi Toksvig,Liz Kershaw and Vanessa Feltz, have all claimed they have been groped, but refuse to name names.
To me this is just continuing the 'claims' that everyone knew about JS but refused to say at the same.
These three are just giving licence for this to carry on and other be abused in future, possibly on of their children if they really think this through
Either put up or STFU
^^ THIS ^^

And as for Janet Street Porter saying in the Daily Wail yesterday that she had been expected to give a BJ - I find it hard to believe that somebody would be prepared to risk his tackle in between those teeth...!

She too should name names or shut up.

Wonder who it was though....

I'm not sure what the PH massive think of the way these girls are dressed - are they looking to impress, or is just for comfort...

They certainly seem to have got the attention of one person!

If this furore over Saville hadn't have happened when were JSP, Toksvig et al planning to reveal this information? Were they ever?

In my opinion they are partially complicit in this sort of thing going on - I don't believe that the culture of "don't ask, don't tell" or whatever changed overnight the moment the Saville media machine started rolling. They had a duty of care and responsibility as people on the inside of the BBC (unlike the general public) to speak out and push the issue earlier.

The BBC - as antiquated and chauvinistic it probably still is in darker corners - is surely far more receptive nowadays and for some time to people speaking out about this sort of thing. Attitudes towards sexual harassment have changed dramatically in all walks of life and have been "better" for some considerable time, certainly long enough that these revelations from Esther Rantzen, JSP, Toksvig et al could've come out years ago.

As founder of Childline Rantzen is the most egregious example of this. "The newspapers wouldn't print it" is a shocking excuse. Newspapers haven't been the only means of disseminating information for years. She could've penned a blog or crusaded on Twitter or Facebook long before now.

It seems contradictory that JSP talks about women being seen as sex objects on a page that has a string of pics/links down the right hand side which are mostly about scantily clad celeb women, and that's on the wome's page! But what do we expect from the Wail.

Exactly right Durzel.

But, I have (yet another) a question.

If in the fullness of time an investigation proves that the allegations are most likely right, if the likes of Rantzen (who has admitted to) knowing about it, but not doing anything about it does it give rise to any potential for proceedings along the lines of aiding the offence(s)?

Remember programmes like ITV's Tiswas, which ran from 1974 to 1982? This slapstick kids' show aired at 10.30 on a Saturday morning, presented by Chris Tarrant and the very glamorous Sally James.
At a time of day when toddlers would be watching, Sally would wear revealing outfits — tiny hot pants — even appearing naked in a bath full of foam. Smut or fun? I know what I thought at the time.
WTF? Naked in a bath? I must have been watching a different Tiswas to her. And where can I find that episode?!

The bit of the Internet it was on has worn out, sorry.

PS: no toddler gives a hoot about nuderies or sauce anyway.

PPS: just kidding. Fill yer boots, pervs:-

PPPS: not just in the bath, but having a shave, eh?

Me neither.

The thing is that everyone looks at situations differently.

As adults we can see 'downsides' to certain situations that kids just find funny.

I can vaguely remember watching Tiswas, if I were to watch it now as an adult my response to it would likely be entirely different.

This will probably get me tagged as a 'perv', but is there a hint of wardrobe malfunction? Or is it a pixel failure on my iPad?

To be honest, until you mentioned it I had not looked that closely, but you can relax - your iPad is fine, aside from the obvious failings inherent in owning an iPad - the beelzebub of tablet PCs, so my son tells me after he sold his!
