I know this subject has been done to death but i can't seem to find the answer I need.

My old car is now sitting on my dads farm with my personal plate attached and registered. The old car (Zetec S) has current mot and tax showing on it.

Completely my fault but I now have a fine for a car that's taxed and not insured so I wish to get the plate of ASAP. If I take the ZS's v5c most recent mot cert and a copy of the tax disc will the 'helpful' people at the DVLA office get me the correct form to fill in or will I be told to sod off and get one?

Or can I print them off and hand the office the bundle of printed off sheets?

Either way thanks in advance.

Easy. Download this - http://www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg/groups/dg_...
Read the notes, then fill in Section 2. Take V5C, current tax disc and MOT to your nearest DVLA local office.

In due course you will get a new age related reg no for the car (usually the one it was originally registered with), a new V5C, amended MOT cert and tax disc, plus a form enabling you to get new reg plates made up.

You will also receive a Retention Document - Form V778 - for your personal reg number. This will be valid for the period you have applied/paid for (1,2, or 3 years).

Normally takes about a couple of weeks to complete the whole process.
