Drive through, and make an excuse to stop at a few places... Sion and Sierre for lunch are nice if you are going through the Valais. or even a outdoor hydro spa... Great after a long drive, but you will want to stay.

We stayed once before in Lucerene, pleasant enough but pricey as always. We're doing one nighttime stretch back to Calais from NW Italy next week so the choice is smash it through Switzerland or France. Switzerland is cheaper although it adds over an hour but France would probably be slightly less tiring. Suspect we'll end up doing the Swiss thing though.

One of the most laid back countries to drive around with near perfect road surfaces and you idiots are treating it like race track.
Saying that I failed to notice a speed reduction in the works van and got a fixed penalty via a road side temporary camera, came through the post under 100chf.
