My disco never goes off road apart from track on golf course but if I did want to take it off road I wouldn't let any of you lot stop me (free country, supposedlyrolleyes
I'm going to organise a rave outside your house.

It's a free country innit. I know my rights.
Exactly, if I don't want a rave outside my house its up to me to chase the fkers off or get bib to do it.

just 300bhp/ton claiming that 4x4s do less damage than horses/bicycles/badgers/pixies when going offroad.
hehe
Maybe the horse he was referring to was a Bronco?

So your philosophy is that you should be able to do whatever you want to and everybody else shouldn't be able to do what you don't want them to?

Wow. Just read all 9 pages of this and it enlivened a very boring morning smile

As an impartial reader of this thread (honest!) I would categorise the argument this far as:

OP: Illegal offroading activity is taking place that is damaging local land, how do I stop it?
4x4 Brigade: You don't get it we should be allowed to go wherever we want etc
Everyone else: It is I...L...L...E...G...A...L activity.

Did I miss anything?
Only you assuming that everything spoken by some applies to all off roaders. But alas, why should you be forced to actually read all the replies? It is much better to assume what is written.

Another well considered comment where other peoples consideration and enjoyment of the countryside has been taken into account.

I would genuinely enjoy reading a report that a numpty just like you had taken it upon himself to go off roading across each and every green of the golf course you use.
Well there's a first, never been called a numpty by someone from Essex before:Dour greens are protected from rabbits sheep and wild horses by low electric fences and are well clear of the tracks for lawnmowers tractors and tourists etc. ( common land 4x4's and cars and caravans use the centre of our course as a legal campsite.

Fortunately the 'tards responsible have made themselves easily identifiable by proudly sporting 'One Life, Live It' stickers on their trucks.

You know that is a Land Rover thing? Doesn't apply to Toyota, Suzuki, Nissan, etc?

Just to update this thread with some reality

For all the people on here bhing and moaning about illegal riding and that they should go somewhere else, it's not our problem blah blah...

I was due to ride the Witley Classic Enduro this weekend along with the other 200 riders who entered and paid for the event - just received the following email

Witley MCC regrets to inform you that we have today been advised that Nature England has applied pressure on the Warren Heath land owner to withdraw, without obvious explanation, the land forcing us to cancel the Witley Classic. We are terribly sorry and hope that this Witley Classic will live again.

Anyone want to have another guess at why people ride illegally???????

Really? A motor racing event has been cancelled due to Nimby pressure, this is PH, and that is your response

I think one of us is on the wrong forum (clue - it isn't me)

I was answering your point about guessing why people ride illegally.

I went to the local dump on Saturday. It was closed. I really wanted to deposit some waste. Should I have dumped the waste at the gates?

A rather facile argument.

You, or course, are entitled to your opinion.

As am I.

If you don't like what others give as an answer to your questions, I'd suggest refraining from asking them.

Indeed

Now suppose you had an interest in off roading. (obviously you don't)

You tried to be polite to other non-motorised users and tried to be respectful of their needs, but were constantly met with hostility

You stuck to the legal places, but over time they became fewer and fewer.

So you did the decent thing and found new places to ride, but they became further and further away.

Then it got to a stage that events started being cancelled and that no-one wanted you to ride or drive anywhere.

You are now left with two choices

1. Give up

2. fk eh all

For the record I don't ride illegally, but I fully support those that do, because Nimbys like you do not accept that there is enough land for all to enjoy their various sports

I am a firm believer in live and let live and the wkers on this thread that cannot support those of us who want to muck about with bikes and cars in the mud can fk off.

I am sure there will be some clever answers to this, so go on shoot me down in flames

Your issue here is with the landowner not the people complaining.
