flashing of lights to force other drivers in front to give way;
misuse of any lane (including cycling lanes) to avoid queuing or gain some other advantage over other drivers;
unnecessarily remaining in an overtaking lane;
unnecessarily slow driving or braking without good cause;
driving with un-dipped headlights which dazzle oncoming drivers, cyclists or pedestrians;
driving through a puddle causing pedestrians to be splashed;
driving a bus in such a way as to alarm passengers.
I especially love the first one. So when some tt is doing 55 in the middle lane, passing no-one, I flash him to suggest that he might like to move over and I'm at fault.

This is all absolute fking nonsense.

End of.

Indeed. One could have convinced oneself that some difference had been made for about a week. Now business as usual.

Has anyone actually been given a FPN for MLMing since the introduction? Not holding my breath.
No but all the people done for speeding by a camera have been fined £100 instead of £60, and the fine increase more or less passed without comment, as I predicted.

No, as per the Highway Code you are using a head light warning informing the car in front of your presence!!

What about the offence of undertaking, if there is one?
Undertaking is an offence

We all pay road tax

The EU has banned bent bananas

Just a few items from the very long list of things that people think are true when they ain't wink
To be fair, EC2257/94 stated that bananas sold as Extra class "shall be free from deformation or abnormal curvature".

It's the same as the not smoking an vans thing. A few people got ticketed initially, but now it's back to how it was.

This isn't down to police, and never has been. I believe it's down to councils to enforce. No idea personally if any fines were given out??

Thanks for answering my initial question whether any had been handed out.

So let's say you are typical. The positive effect has been minimal based on my observations. Not trying to have a dig just saying what I see.

So is it time for more education and Reginald Molehusband type stuff on the television? In other words publicly ridicule these people.

Why do you continue to counter sign all of your entries? We know who it is because it says so on the left side of the post.

If you counted up all the keystrokes and seconds wasted duplicating your username, you would have a shed load of extra time to do something constructive with.

More driver education is badly needed. Those we speak to have no clue about keeping left!!! It's a despairing task!!

To give an example of one reply;

'That lane is for lorries and people to get on and off the road, the middle one is for normal driving and the outer one is for going quicker'

I know it's no dig at myself or my colleagues, we do what we can, but we are few compared to the number of jobs we have to attend. I saw the initial change in driving for a few days, and then normal MLM status resumed!!!

Further education/training is the way forward (but it costs money!!)

As a pedant, haven't you ended a sentence with a preposition? As an admirer of logic, one could argue that the amount of time wasted typing something that one is used to typing is significantly less than typing a whole post asking why one's done so. As a "countersigner", I do it as a salutation. As an aside, it has the benevolent effect of reminding people like you how nice your life is that this is so high up your list of concerns.

Indeed. Many, many, many people genuinely have no idea that they're doing anything wrong. Some will think that a 3 lane carriageway is (L-R) "50, 60, 70". Presumably four-laners blow their minds.

Cheers, Jim

Fair play to you for trying anyway. I've also heard people refer to lane 2 as "the cruising lane" ffs.

Out of curiosity on this one...

If I catch up to another vehicle on a dual carriageway & the other vehicle is doing say 50 in the outside lane & I continue past on the inside still within the limit, is this still classed as an illegal undertake?

Technically if I don't move over, pass, & move back then it's hardly my fault is it?
